At home, a phone call:

Me: "Hello?"
Mum's friend: "Is your mum around?"
Me: "No, but you can try calling her mobile."
Mum's friend: "Is she coming back?"
Me: "Uh... yeah?"

Opposites Attract

Last night I wore a short-sleeved bright orange shirt which has seen better days (years). Dad was quick to discuss this with Mum:

Dad: "His shirt is old, isn't it?"
Mum: "But it looks good on him."
Dad: "He's been wearing it for years!"
Mum: "...but it's a nice colour!"
