X-Men 3: The Last Stand - Film Review

"What's Sir Leigh Teabing doing in X-Men?"

Sir Ian McKellen is once again entrusted the heavy burden of holding up a movie. Except this time, he is Magneto.

The plot is thinner than thosai. A group of humans discover an antidote which angers a group of mutants, and the X-Men's goal is to destroy the cure. [This is not a spoiler. After all, if you're expecting a clever storyline you won't be watching this film.]

The mutants are portrayed as heartless killers, that you can't help rooting for the humans instead.

My favourite scene is, of course, Mystique's last transformation. Yummy!

Watching this movie is like a rollercoaster ride. You hop in, strap on your seatbelts, feel the adrenaline rush, then hop off. There's nothing much to remember after it ends.

In conclusion, if you remove the special effects, sexy women and Ian McKellen, there's no reason for you to watch it. I'm not a big fan of the X-Men series, but I was ready to be converted.

Problem is, this movie didn't even try.

Rating: C
