Destination Exploration

This month has been a very productive month for me in terms of my songwriting. With almost nothing else to distract me, I have complete liberty to explore new ideas and melodies to incorporate into my songs.

I realize I've written many (in fact, enough) songs that veer on the -- how should I say it? -- emotionally-down side. It might be that my over-sensitiveness always takes the better of me when I songwrite and then I get all melancholic and paranoid. Yes, and schizophrenic. Which songwriter isn't?

Therefore I am making a conscious effort to pepper my songs with liberal tastes of optimism, rather than sour pessimism. It will need some effort, but as usual, none that I can't conquer.
