Cars - Film Review

True to its reputation, Disney-Pixar again delivers with Cars.

The first few scenes may feel a little awkward as you are introduced to a world inhabited by cars and automobiles. However the awkwardness doesn't last, as you easily slip into their world and play along.

The main character Lightning McQueen is a racing car whose mind is perpetually occupied with winning the next race. Snobbish and arrogant, he prides himself on being a "one-man show". All that threatens to change when en route to a big race, McQueen veers off the Interstate and stumbles upon a forgotten town on Route 66.

Cars is generously peppered with genuinely funny, laugh-out-loud humour, unlike the lame attempts of potty humour in similar animations. Watch out for the tractor-tripping scene!

The skillfully crafted characters, each with their own personality and "facial" features will amaze you. The breathtaking sceneries will blow you away. And the wonderfully timed soundtrack will captivate.

Definitely worth a second watch. "Kachow!"
