Kerachut Hike

Today's hike to Pantai Kerachut (Kerachut beach, north-west perimeter of Penang Island) was a great lot of fun, with a great bunch of people! Some pics first:

I love this shot, taken in the middle of the trail. Josephine is the tour guide as she's familiar with the track. Liz is the paranoid one; kept complaining about monkeys stalking her (in fact I think they did!). Swee Kit took this photo; she refuses to be snapped hot and sweaty. As for me and Esmond... well, we took care of the lame jokes, didn't we dude?

From Taman Negara to Pantai Kerachut, the hike roughly took two hours, with several detours, photo-taking sessions and Swee Kit's constant "oh look at that tree!" every few steps. Embarrassingly, I somehow managed to bump my head on an overhanging tree trunk. From then onwards, everytime we came across a tree trunk, the others would go "watch out! six feet height limit!" Esmond kept asking me "how's your bump?" which actually sounds like "how's your bum?"

I hardly got a bump, actually. I think I did get a little smarter though, tee hee.


Beached jellyfish!
Beached jellyfish were aplenty on the beach. According to the motorboat operator, this kind of translucent jellyfish is not very poisonous, as opposed to small ones with red heads. To our surprise, he added that it was not edible. Well, we weren't exactly thinking of eating it...

Group photo. After several attempts getting the tripod (Josephine's tripod, lol) to stand properly, we still appear on the top-right. Oh well, let's call it artistic creativity then. (I'm getting ready to dump sand on Liz.)


Lying on the cool, dry sand with mindless care under a clear blue sky, is definitely on my "to-do and to-do-again" list! Thanks for the wonderful moments, people! :)
