Get Paid for Being Single!

If a few days ago, single people felt somewhat neglected from the festivities, then today must definitely be the time to rejoice - It's the Lunar New Year, where singles get paid for being single! A lot!

Yup, it doesn't matter what age you are. As long as you're not married, you'll get an angpow from the married folks. Some of my friends have erronously asked me for angpow and were surprised when I told them that only married couples give angpows. Ah, why is this so?

We've certainly got to improve our cultural awareness. Ah, but then again this is a topic often discussed with a plethora of empty promises and policies, which almost always give a null result. Why is this so?

What I like most about the Lunar New Year are the freshly-baked cookies! Almond cookies which my mum does so well, those peanut cookies which my grandma serves, and what else... hmmm... I think just generally the atmosphere of getting together, seeing some relatives whom you never know by name because they never speak to you. But hmm, we do see each other once a year at least in my grandma's place, so well in a way you can say we do see each other growing up.

That's what I love about the Lunar New Year. And yeah, how could I forget... The reward for being single!
