"What?"
"Put aside your ego," my conscience repeated.
"Are you kidding? I have no ego --"
"Don't kid yourself. Leave it aside and ask!"
"But I've been used to answering others' queries. I feel uncomfortable having people answer mine --"
"Face it, dude. You don't understand this topic. You need to ask."
"True..."
"Now put aside your ego. Ask."
"I told you, I have no issues with my ego. What's with you, man?!"
"Whatever. Now admit you don't understand. You need help. Ask."
"Okay... well, here goes..."
"Say you don't understand. Say you need help."
"Oh, this is surprising... It is hard --"
"Told you so!" my conscience smirked.
"Alright, 'I don't understand this. I need your help. Help me please.' "
"Good job!"
For what it's worth, I'm very glad I did. Thanks to the kind souls who helped me today. And to my conscience for unveiling my stupid ego.

Sometimes I find it hard to ask people for help because I didn't want to appear stupid or useless. Then I realise it's better to appear stupid once than to be stupid forever.
