And again, welcome back, Mr. H
After a premature welcome one month ago, it seems Mr. Haze is now back in the skies of Penang. Bigger, better and bolder. That's three 'b' words, an alliteration most commonly used in ads, but which ad escapes my mind for now.
"Penangites will have to bear with the haze for the next few days as no rain has been forecast for this week. [...] A spokesman from the Department of Environment said the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Prai was at 64 and 72 at Universiti Sains Malaysia on the island at 11am. API readings of 0-50 are good, 51-100 (moderate), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and above 300 (hazardous)." (emphasis added) - The Star: Haze hits Penang, no rain forecast for this week
And I've been wondering what's causing the nausea and headache this whole day, which I couldn't afford to have due to a test tomorrow.
Let's pray once again for the faithful rain that comes to wash away the haze and clear our skies as before, as always. For Penang is truly a blessed place when it comes to haze and rains -- they usually come together, sometimes simultaneously. Whenever a haze is imminent, rain comes too. Problem solved.
Now, let's not busy ourselves finger pointing. Where's the rain? You're much needed now.
"Malaysia is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indonesia by the end of this month to overcome the recurring haze problem. Deputy Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk S. Sothinathan said this means Malaysia would adopt the Riau province to prevent fires from starting." (emphasis added) - The Star: Haze issue: Malaysia to sign MoU with Indonesia
