To Prove Him Wrong
"Because ours is a three-year Physics course," the lecturer said to me, "it's very hard for us to pursue research overseas."
I disagreed with him but was in no mood to argue. Instead, I debated his statement in my head. After a moment's thought, I had a sneaking suspicion of his education credentials.
A fast check with the school's website confirmed my suspicion -- he had studied in the same university from Bachelor's up to Ph.D. This justifies his statement, but begs the question: Was he limited by his ability, or insecurity?
How dare he imply that our graduates are not good enough for the world. (Probably the worst crime is the realization that he himself is a lecturer of this course!) I now have one more item in my To-Do List: I will prove him wrong.
