Bird in the Bush

picsource

They say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

But with the bird held in one hand, I slowly inch closer to the bush and ruffle it, to see what bird lies beneath... I will not be able to hold on to both, but there's no harm looking to see the other bird. Who knows, the bird in the bush might be a much better one than the one in my hand.

After all, if I stay content with this bird and write away the one in the bush, I would never again in my lifetime get the chance to see the bird in the bush. If you were me (which you can never be, but you could imagine), what would you do?

Come to think of it, this proverb sounds extremely dirty.
