Gender equality taken too far

Town gives women equal footing on road signs

MADRID (Reuters) - A Spanish town council has vowed to banish sexism from street signage by demanding half of all road signs and traffic lights show female figures with skirts and ponytails. [emphasis added]

Fuenlabrada, which lies south of the capital Madrid, will replace old and damaged road signs and traffic lights with new stock within a year.

"In this way the sexism which until now has seen only masculine figures appear in traffic signals will be brought to an end," the town council said in a statement.
Ah. Just two simple questions:
1. Which smart alec suggested that the stick figure is masculine?
2. Isn't representing the female form as wearing skirts and having ponytails, worsening this "sexist" argument?
Ok, maybe one more:
3. How many females keep ponytails and wear skirts?

Good god, sexism isn't embedded in road signs. Sexism, racism, and all sorts of discrimination can be tackled only with the change of mind set.

As we can all see, some is as shallow to suggest that it is wrong on the part of a woman to get raped because she was wearing a skirt. Change the narrow little brain cells of those people. New road signs are just a waste of tax money.
